Have you tried FS today? We just put out the update to the launcher to make it run with 1.51 (so it should be good for you now, no crashing when launching FS). As for the server joining thing..hmm. Try clearing your cache, this is found in My Documents, Battlefield 2142, Mods, FirstStrike. Just delete everything in the cache folder. The game will repopulate with contents but it will cause you to load shaders again when you first start loading.

I have the same problem like Darcan. After the Update the game crashed after start it with the launcher. I have deleted the cache and reinstalled the game, but nothing helped.

No, that is a different problem. Darcan crashes when he hits deploy, you crash when you use the launcher. By update, I assume you mean 1.51 for BF2142. We have previously stated that this was not compatible with FirstStrikes launcher and published a fix. That fix has now been issued through an update. Just start FirstStrike, it will then update your files so that it should start First Strike correctly.

there are no custom maps on rebel defiance unless you are running an older version of First Strike (ie 1.4).

The FS launcher says I'm on version 1.5 but FS I said I'm in version 1.2, this  normal? neutral

I'm on a Vista PC

Edit: I could start the server but at the time of joining, I still crashe. sad sad
