The damage the A-wing does is pretty negligible. It is constant though, and therefore likely to shave off that last point of health.
It was the A-wing that got the kill shot, it was the Cap ships that did the damage which killed you.

X-wing and B-wing lasers do a lot more damage- its just harder to pull that trick successfully.

Oh you can do it with an X-Wing easy enough.

Yeah the A Wing has low damage dealing, but clinging to the side of the ship like that has other uses. It can often lead to the pilot breaking off froma firefight and going in to panic as he tries to manouvere to give his gunners a shot at the pesky fighter thats slowly bleeding his hp. Knowing something is attacking you and you can do nothing about it is a very psychological weapon smile

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.
