Topic: BATTLE OF YAVIN VISTA FIX

If you're using Windows Vista and having trouble playing Battle of Yavin, here's a fix for you.

You have two options, the first is to play in windowed mode.  To do this, simply check the Windowed button in the Launcher when you start the game.

Second, if you'd rather stay in your native resolution, in the Launcher use the Arguments box in File->Preferences to specify your resolution using +szx <number> +szy <number> where the numbers represent the resolution you're using (example +szx 1024 +szy 768)

Re: BATTLE OF YAVIN VISTA FIX

Thanks Omen.. Will give it a shot!

Do..or do not, there is no try !

Re: BATTLE OF YAVIN VISTA FIX

Make sure when you do this you place the movies folder included in the download into your mods/FirstStrike/ folder.  It's a tedious work around, but unfortunately NVidia's drivers for Vista are rubbish.  You can always upgrade to XP if you want to play again.

Re: BATTLE OF YAVIN VISTA FIX

Mine works fine  in FULL SCREEN now !
This might work for any other laptop users out there and possibly anyone using LCD screen...

I simply set the resolution to my laptop screens native resolution of 1440x900 .  I had not been able to do this before as it was not listed in Video Options as a resolution.
So I added +szx 1440 +szy 900  to the shortcut path  and bingo, perfect screen !  (Thanks to suggesting windowed mode which set me on the path to this)

So to sum up -  right-click on your FirstStrike  shortcut, and select properties.
Then in Target box, add +szx 1440 +szy 900  to the end of it (REPLACE 1440 & 900 WITH YOUR NATIVE SCREEN RESOLUTION);od luck, and may the force be with you.
