At last i solved the problem!!!So heres the new method:First need the fix thing.Then need login with your soldier.If this done need alt+tab out from the game then need go back.After this, need create a Yavin map and while the map loading need alt+tab again and need go back again ingame.If the game complete the loading need join into the game(deploy), then need alt+tab out from the game again and go back ingame.Voila!!!The map works perfectly!!!You need do this only once/ingame.The map in the future always loading in correctly while you play!So that means if you quit from the game and restart the game, you need do this again!

I think the yavin map is just too much though. mine never crashes, but it is realy slow and laggy, especially inside the death star

It says in the instructions to alt TAB out of the game and then return to it.

THe solution for you all starts with an X and ends in a P until NVidia fixes there drivers.

Anyway weird things happened in the past hours while im tryed start this map.In the end i succeeded.I can start the map and can sit in the server but the map etc. not appear....:/ If i hit the alt key the map appear but the entire map black....:S I mean the spawnpoint selector map. You dudes can explain this? More:I sometimes can fly!Dunno how but sometimes the spawnmap get work, but this isnt enought....need 20-30 tryes lol....:(

Make sure you actually download and install that fix, or else alt tabbing will kill your game.

Then you need more RAM, sorry, You shouldn't be running vista if you have a low amount of RAM

Thx but if im alt+tab out from the game the game stop responding and crashed...:/

This is a known bug for Vista users with NVidia cards. We're posting up a fix you can use for it, but ultimately, NVidia needs to better their driver support for Vista.

Hi guys,

I don't know why, but when I try to join any server with the Battle of Yavin map, all I had is a crash. The map is loading as usual, I join the game and when I have to choose my faction, the faction menu screen disapear and the game just crash.

I try Reloth map and it works pretty well. For further infos, I had First Strike 1.1 with the patch 1.2 for BF2142. I install your First Strike 1.2 then the latest patch 1.4 for BF2142. My comp is as following:

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
- Asus P5W DH Deluxe
- 4*1 GB DDR2 RAM
- 8800 GTX 768 MB with the Forceware 175.16 Drivers
- Vista Business 32 bit

So, is it a known bug (Vista compatibility) ? Or is it just me (wrong installation procedure) ?
If it's the second case, I will reattempt to reinstall the mod. But since I can load and play with other maps, it's pretty strange.
