Topic: NIC Campaign feedback

Opening this thread for feedback and suggestions that may come about from the upcoming campaign. As it looks like we may have good player numbers I hope to see some good feedback here.

I'm going to open with something from the NiC forums, and that is a question reference some items that are currently in testing, specifically, for the map Null Sensor Station. I agree that it might be prudent to ship out a minor bug buster for some things we have.

HOWEVER.

They are not fully tested. Due to time constraints from both the Dev team and members of the testing team, we have been unable to get adequate numbers of testers in to fully stress test some items. It may be possible to get some of these minor fixes checked through and shipped in time for the campaign but its a big if.

To do it, we need testers. No commitments, but just for a week or so some stress testers to really blitz this as hard as we can would be good.

So, want to get this minor bug fix out? Post up to stress test and I'll make a custom group and have it setup to night to get testing asap ready for a patch.

There is an autopatcher. Use it.  (Suggestion tongue)

Use the public for testing small changes like that.  If it doesn't work, revert it with the old files.  I'd stress, but I'm not willing to have to bother installing anything beyond standard FS updates.

DUKE815: Teamwork's complicated.  I've found that ramming a Lambda with a Y-wing at full boost is most effective.

That would be an option Gwynzer, unfortunately the way things are it could take a while rousing someone to create a public patch. Thats why its better to get as much testing done as possible prior to releasing. We could make a patch with some of the changes, then have to wait a month to get someone back to make a reversion patch. That would throw the campaign out yet again.

Ah, of course.  I forgot only Imp (and Neko?) had the privileges to create public patches.  Never mind then. sad

Yup, those are the two with access. It's not just Null either, there's some coding to check out that could fix the lambda and sentinel TK punish issue (when someone bails and the pilot gets tk punish), tweaks to co-op Yavin to help with Imp hangar spawns, Mos Espa spawn points to be reverted, plus some other ai/co-op tweaks.
