Topic: Having trouble hosting

Hello,

So I've followed Twigs instruction on hosting. I'm using BF2142cc to host the server, but I can't seem to use the BF2142cc GUI program to log into the server and change the map listings.

Any idea why I can't connect? I've opened all of the ports needed, put all the files where they need to go, etc.

Re: Having trouble hosting

Have you got the login panel for the cc set to BF2CCDaemon? And is this a local server or one that you have rented from a company? If its a rented one make sure you have got the correct cc password

Re: Having trouble hosting

This one is a local server. I was hoping to use my PC to host the regular mod while the main (only) server is tied up.

I do have the login panel set on BF2CCDaemon, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to connect so I can edit the map list and such. Also, I'm not sure if my server is reaching the server selection list, but I can see it fine and connect from Lan.

Re: Having trouble hosting

Hmm. BF2CC has its own instructions on how to install and set it up, so I can only suggest to check the readme for that I'm afraid.

Re: Having trouble hosting

Would it be able to run the server by just editing the .con files to point to the first strike maps? the BF2142cc site doesn't even exist anymore, so it's hard to find any good documentation. Am I supposed to be using a different password for the login, or putting my IP address in some config file somewhere?

Re: Having trouble hosting

I really have no idea mate, never tried to run a server locally before.

Try going in to your server folder, then open the 2142cc folder. Locate the file titled default and open it with notepad. That should list the server IP, port and the rcon password, the default login may be set to admin

Re: Having trouble hosting

Hmm. I don't have a 2142cc folder inside the Battlefield 2142 Server folder. Do I need to extract 2142cc there? I was under the impression it could be run anywhere.
