Topic: New map layout, With detailed picture.
Ok, so basically this is a capture the entire island. Sand, rocks, beaches, all that jazz. Except, there is about to be a big storm. Here is the details.
Map Name: Bal'demnic Raid
Planet:Bal'demnic
Ground/Space: Ground, Water
Weather/Lighting: Grey clouds cover half the sky, storm brewing, slightly windy, you can hear thunder way in the distance, maby abit of trickling lite rain. Basically the calm befor the storm.
Layout Diagram: Keep in mind that I made this far too bright, it will be darker since a storm is about to approuche

Map description: This is basically a take over the island map. The imperial fleet has landed on 2 islands on opposite sides of the main island. Basically in an attempt to surround teh rebels and take the mining facility on the island.
Story: The Imperial fleet has discoverd a small rebel force on an island on Bal'demnic. This island is holds a large rebel cortosis mining facility that is vital to rebel profits. A Powerfull storm approuches, and rebels are unaware of the imperials desperate plans to take the island. The Imperial force plans to surprise and surround the rebels by landing shuttles on 2 small islands located a few hundred yards away from the main island, both on opposite sides of the island (on southwest, the other to the Northeast). They will then take transport boats in an attempt to bord the island. The rebels know they must defend this island, as it is a large source of credits, they must defend it at all costs.
Gameplay Description: Basically as I stated, the imperials must try to take over the island by bording it. The rebels must defend it with whatever means nessesary. Some will use the defence turrets, some will use aircraft, and then the basic land battles will occure. Kindof like wake island on steroids. The weather has no effect on the gameplay, its jsut there to give a cool feeling.
Vehicles: Imperials will have transport boats, and maby a couple aircraft (perhaps the lambda shuttles can be pilotable). You must remember that the rebels are supposed to have the upper hand in this. Much like omaha beach on bf1942.
Rebels will have turrets, 1 ywing, 1 xwing (maby 2 of each), and maby a couple AAC-1 Hovertanks. I think we should keep powerfull land vehicles out of this, as it would be more of an infantry vs infantry land fight.
Extra notes: Note that the weather and ambient sounds I asked for will play a key role in setting the mood for this map. So if you decide to use this idea, try your hardes to make it feel like there is about to be a big thunder storm.
Also, the white puffy type substance on the land is the hight. The whiter the land is the higher the surface is. so thouse edges with the stones are cliffs so you can spot enemy boats approuching. And the pinkish greenish stuff on the land is obviously sand for beaches.
