Re: Commander Deployables

On big ships have the gunner stations have little rooms and when severe damage they fall off and have the guy tumble around inside while floating in space until they comit suicide

anothor would be Ship to ship boarding

escape pods to nearby friendly ships

bridges  and have a window see through from outside and inside so a guy on the other ship can see the other comander get TKed for being crappy Muhaha

Re: Commander Deployables

I got bags on the TK. knifeknifeknife. Still, the tumbling about thingummy would be seriously hard to do. Besides, practically all the guns are controlled from the command deck. is you just get static on the screen, that would be cool. Save a lot of extra interior too

The one Voss to rule them all. The one Voss to find them. One Voss to bring them all and FRAG THEM!

Re: Commander Deployables

Realistically, the Turbolaser cannons on the capital ships are supposed to be only mildly dangerous to fighters. Turbolaser were more for ship to ship combat.

Oh, and please don't decide that the bulbous reactor underneath an ISD is a shield generator, like RS did. lol

If there's a battle of endor map, maybe the rebel commander spawns with an Admiral Ackbar skin? LOL

Re: Commander Deployables

-Vehicles- Hopefully even the mighty AT-AT could be made deployable by the commander.

Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind this done, if it's implemented in a good way.

-Defense shields- small, but big enough to cover a cp these shields would deflect any bombardment for a given period of time. Would give grunts a fighting chance until reinforcements arrived. This could also be done by an engineer class if not by commander.

I loved the deployable shield in Galactic Conquest. Deployed by the Engineer and shaped like a half-dome, so that if you put two down (which required two engineers), you had an actual dome you could hide under. It was about three meters wide and two meters tall, and deflected laser bolts, although grenades and other non-laser objects went straight through it. Infantry could pass through the shield, but took damage doing so, similar to when they went through barbwire in Vanilla.

I loved the camouflage tent, too, when I think about it. Little thing you deployed and hid under, and that you could see out of and fire through. Was actually pretty hard to spot, especially if you didn't know what to look for, in which case I can imagine it'd just be an oddly shaped terrain feature not worthy your ammo, until it started shooting at you.

...or make the two sensor domes above the bridge shield generators like all the x-wing games incorrectly did. tongue

Re: Commander Deployables

I thought the domes were the sheild generators for the bridge.
