If I were going for a historically correct version, I would definitlely go for both the early and later clone wars.  I really digged the variations that the clones had in episode II, and it got even better in episode III with the different clone units and commanders.  If playing in a later campaign I think it would be great if you could select the clone army that you wanted to fight prior to the round, even if the only difference was the color variation in the armor.  I suppose the commander could have a different weapon package based on the army that was picked if you wanted to further vary it up.  I noticed that some people were recommending a faction from an earlier time period.  In that case, why not something from the Madalorian War?

What I think I would the most fun to play would be a pure bounty hunter faction, using bounty hunters from all the movies, and maybe even some from EU.

No heroes, fortunately. Copyright issues. This game is about the common grunts anyway.

My ideas:

   -  Pirates/smugglers, flying old and/or outdated vessels and wielding a variety of weapons looted or bought from various sources.
   -  Non-Rebel military forces (for example a planetary invasion where the planet's government resists the Imperials). Alternatively, it could be an Alliance-backed uprising, for example on Tattooine. Civilians, mercenaries or militias using in part equipment by the Rebels and in part their own materials.
   -  Zaarin or Thrawn's forces (defecting Imperials for an Empire vs. Empire map).
   -  Mercenaries.
   -  Mon Calamari wink .

I'd really, really like pirates with "ancient" ships like the Z-95 and R-41, and either outdated models for cruisers or just old designs that are missing some parts or otherwise do not function 100%. I can picture an old semi-derelict Correlian Corvette with an engine missing and two non-functional laser turrets, for instance. They could've additional signs of age such as rust, scratches, blast marks, and so on, too.

Did you guys left the Mandalorians it could be allies withe the empire b/c Boba Fett is a Mandalorian and during there were Mandalorians in clans. That would be awsome . The Mandalorians Super Commandos with Jet packs. Dam that's impressive. Boba as Mandalore (Meaning the Leader of the Mandalorains.) They would be a ally fraction to empire bc boba help them.

Boba fett was not Mandalorain. He had mandalorian armor. The Mandalorians have all but died out even before Episode I. They where a menace during the rule of the Old Republic.

Mandalorian armor was very rare during the the rule of the empire and was Boba Fett's signature.

So don't expect any Mandalorian army simply because there was non during the reign of the empire.

Boba was a clone of Jango, so bobas blood runs with mandalorian blood, also he later becomes Mandalore so what do u mean he isnt a mandalorian? smile and Suc'uy to the forum sorry think my mandalorians gotten rusty since starwarsgalaxies :S

Actually, the Legacy Series says pretty well he was Mandalorian-In fact he's the Mandalore (Leader.) It wraps the whole Jaster Journeymen thing up pretty well too.

GUYS, Yuuzhan Vong!  I mean come on.  It's all but impossible, but while we're dreamin up other factions, how bout the biggest post-clone wars war in the saga!

Besides, you know you want to see the devs recreate Thud-Bugs.
