Re: 'Boarding a cargo freighter' level

I'm pretty sure the Sentinel was only a planetary landing craft, not a space boarding craft.

EDIT: Yep, sources seem to always describe it as a "lander". It would be more suited to planetary missions.

Re: 'Boarding a cargo freighter' level

Ok I'm pretty sure that hte sentinel was never mentioned as the cargo freighter people would be fighting on it was meant to be the more lore accurate boarding craft of the freighter....

I still don't think it would work though considering how huge the hanger would have to be to fit a sentinel inside.

The assault transport or STT would work muuuch better.

Re: 'Boarding a cargo freighter' level

I picked the craft I did because it doesn't need a landing bay, it docks at a docking hatch.

Re: 'Boarding a cargo freighter' level

Just a clarification because it seems that some of you might be confused, the Sentinel Shuttle was suggested to be an alternate transport vehicle to get to the Freighter, not as a substitute for the freighter for people to fight on.

I started work on an objective map awhile ago that shares a lot of the same characteristics as your idea Canadiens, but today I reworked my objectives and initial interior layout to be more titan-esque.  It's not an official map as it wouldn't be a movie locale, but if you'd like to help me make the map (@ Canadiens) pm me and I will share my ideas and work as of thus far.

As for the rest of you lot...you'll just have to wait and see....

Re: 'Boarding a cargo freighter' level

I love the idea. I really like the Storm trooper Transport, and I'd love a map where they are used for boarding. I think it'd be a better idea to pull a Judicator, though, and start off with the transports stationary, already having docked and cut their way into the freighter. I'd love a map with flyable Stormtrooper Transports, but I don't think this one should be it.

Don't care about the details, just make the damned map. It doesn't contradict anything, so it's fair game. The Empire boards ships, this freighter was one of them, it's boarded. Easy enough.

Oh, and both the Stormtrooper Transport and Assault Transport are used for boarding operations. I don't see why they'd need the heavier Assault Transport for an unarmed target, so I'd take the Stormtrooper Transport any day.

Sounds like a reverse Judicator.....

Yup. It'll be great.

I always wondered how a tiny correlian corvette could possibly hold the number of troops needed to assualt a ISD

If you read the introduction after the loading screen, it said quite clearly that it was an out-of-supplies ship with a skeleton crew. In the battle depicted in GC Tanaab, it arrives for re-supply at the Tanaab station, but is driven off by a Rebel attack, runs out of power in deep space, and is boarded by the Alliance.

Not to mention that the corvette may not have been the first ship to board the Star Destroyer.

, especially seeing as the situation painted makes it more likely it was the corrleian ship being boarded instead of the ISD.

This is why the developers eventually had to put the map instructions into the loading screens of the maps: No one ever bothered to read the briefings.

If you have played SWBF 2, then you'll know that yes, they did care for their fellow troops

Never use the Battlefront or Rogue Squadron series as a source for anything Star Wars.

called the Imperial Lander or The Imperial Sentinal-class shuttle transport

Or the Sentinel Class Imperial Landing Craft. "Shuttle Transport" is contradictory and makes it sound like a transport that carries shuttles.

Either way, it should not be used in this map. It's for planetary assaults, not for boarding space ships.

Very good idea, would enjoy playing it a lot. Maybe once the battle has gone on for a certain amount of time a small Rebel task force can arrive and a space battle can begin (nothing big, maybe a nebulon frigate and some fighters).

It would be much more fun if a static transporter appear inside the captured bay, that let the Stormtroopers spawn inside the ship itself. Just a nice infantry map.
