"A group of 4 of us were under fire and trying to hide from a walker on a snow map. I mean like walker was right behind the wall, and we just all kept running around it hiding near boxes. Another person from our team comes and tries to shoot the walker with his assault rifle, standing next to us. We knew that walker would just kill him and probably find us. So.... i took my handgun and shot him in the back of the head.
Walker saw nothing, walked away, team saved, I'm punished"
Now I realize this is not the kind of thing that is going to happen everytime you play but come on. If I am in a tank and I accidentally mistake one of my teamates for an enemy and put a shell inside of him, he's gonna die.
Yes, so the guy was an idiot - but what if someone TKed you (you, your friend, whatever) while they were trying to sneak around? Or what if the guy had a rocket launcher? He would be discovered, so would you kill him? Woiuld you kill everyone in a 5m circle of you in case the enemy saw you?
Having to think before you shoot, and suffering the consequences if you make a bad call and shoot a friendly adds to the gameplay.
Suffer the consequences? Its the teamkilled guy that has the problem, the problem of being dead. Havn't you ever spent 5 minutes getting to a good location, only to be teamkilled?
I'm not calling for a total blanket no TKing, anyway. Artillery should definitely kill friendlies, and possibly vehicles too.
