Re: titan mode

Titan mode will be modelled change stollen from, added to subtracted from, shot bya  death star then ressembled into many new thing I believe one of which will likely include space maps. I doubt you will see titan mode as it is in 2142 re-appear in FS, but you will mor ethan likely see chunks appear in other gamemode later on.

The ship you posted a link of will be a static on Hoth

Re: titan mode

So if there is titan mode, will it be star destroyer VS mon calamari cruzer? mabie they might have to be smaller versions of them or different all together.

Re: titan mode

I fear we are not yet willing to really talk about our plans any more than we already have.  I will comment though that the 2142 titanmode will most likely not make an appearance.  Instead we'd like to replace it with actual better gameplay smile  ((why have two when you can have a fleet? ))

Re: titan mode

yes, a fleet of multipurpose ships (ie medical frigate , cap ship etc ) all dependant on each other , thro the use of good tactics , to come out on top is something that interests me more than just having A vs B ships.
Whilst it is obviously beneficial to only have a small number of fully boardable ships with lengthy interior ( to focus battles) , determining your strategy beforehand ,to say.. make your 1st priority be to take out medical frigates and therefore sufficiently weaken aspects of your enemy could give you differing ways to win the battle.

Fleets that are actually dependant on each other rather than just a bunch of big ships vs another bunch of big ships

Re: titan mode

Bandu's got the idea.

You don't even need to have all ships boardable to make fleet ships interdependent.  For instance, just have different cap ship types give different bonuses to their team.

If the medical frigate is alive, infantrymen, presumably boarding enemy ships, get slowly recharging health in the field to symbolize having medical facilities for the fleet.

If the communications ship is alive, the commander has the ability to see everything on the map - enemy ships and allied alike.

If the fleet carrier is alive, the team gets more ship respawns or more bombers, or more advanced fighters spawning once in a while.

If there is a freighter alive in the fleet, fightercraft spawn with larger payloads.

I think that, although sometimes unrealistic, game mechanics like this for space maps would add a great element of depth and give the same battle a different outcome and strategy each game.
