Re: V-Wing and more

The old games are fun - but require a bit of work to get running on XP - damn LA and not supporting older games grr argh!

Meanwhile, my friend Killer3wok just did a simulation on his X-Wing Alliance game and found that despite their slower speed and lower manoeuvrability, B-Wings pwn TIE Defenders - but in overall battles, Imperial fighters win the day. He just phoned me on this one. Ah, those custom sims were one of the highlights of X-Wing Alliance...

Re: V-Wing and more

Tho what im going to do is make it 32 ships of each side and kinda balance it to see how it plays out and see if i can get a score that close to about 1-10 kills of eachother smile then you guys can get some sort of theroy from it

Well, I just unlocked the secrets to playing my TIE Fighter Collector's Edition CD-ROM on Windows XP - so if you'll excuse me, I have some awesomeness to catch up on...

I'd like to point out that X-Wing alliance was extremely well balanced, and didn't, to my knowledge, massively contradict the movies - films.

Whaa??!! yikes tongue Awesome game it was, but balanced it wasn't. And I don't want to touch upon the inaccuracies at this point. lol tongue *thinks of all the mismatched specifications and shudders*

Well, you'll find that the canonicity of many of the old school games we cling to, depends greatly on your own point of view.

For example - I'll take the canonicity of the X-Wing series over say, Rogue Squadron, or SWBF2 when it comes to fighter combat ANY DAY!!!
