Well, since the guides and games are the lowest form of lore, the Movies and novels first.

Yeah, okay (weird thing to say when working on a game) but the reason I was using the guides to quote stats, was I don't remember a part in the movies where they suddenly stop the plot to tell you the weapons/speed/armor stats of all the fighters - do you?

Re: V-Wing and more

Wasn't There a V-Wing in ROTS tho that looked like a tie fighter

Re: V-Wing and more

That's a different V-Wing, the Nimbus class fighter or something like that. This is the V-Wing airspeeder from Rogue Squadron 1.

Guides, novels  and games are considered C-canon.

Re: V-Wing and more

As for balancing the forces, when it comes to accuracy, the truth is the Rebels had shields and the Imps didn't and the Empire balanced this out by overwhelming the Rebs with numbers. But we only have 32 players to work with so we can't overwhelm with numbers - so the Imps need some sort of extra advantage to balance out - other than not being accurate like SWBF2 and giving the TIEs shields and missiles or something stupid like that - and so in certain levels having one or two Defenders or Advanced might work.

Re: V-Wing and more

Games are a special case, as generally only the stories are C-canon, while things like stats and gameplay may not be; they also offer non-canonical options to the player, such as choosing female gender for a canonically male character.

Games' stats are NOT canon at all unless they are duplicated elsewhere - and Guides fall under the same blanket when inconsistencies arise.

You have to remember they are edited for gameplay purposes, and as such cannot be relied upon - and guides pretty much make stuff up where there are gaps (and often get overridden later on).
