Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

As I said in the ABC thread, Hoth had a really annoying tendency to break down because it was all too easy to just pick up a TIE Fighter, fly into the Alliance hangar, and capture their rear base. Why? Because on a public server, you're practically never going to find someone willing to spend the round on sentry duty in the main base, just sitting there waiting for the occasional stormie to come in. And I can't blame them.

Besides there are occasions like say the imps take a flag where there is already some rebel craft, the imp craft won't appear with the rebel craft already at the vehicle spawn point.

Then have the Imperial craft spawn at a different spot than the rebel craft, if possible. Either way, there's nothing a good DetPack can't handle when there's some Rebel material to destroy tongue .

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

We shouldn't have to 'lock' the door upon leaving, it's really part of the strategy. I sneak in a rebel base, steal a X-fighter and it gives me an advantage of sneaking up on enemy rebels because they dismiss me as a friendly fighter.

If you don't like it.. just blow em up big_smile

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

I wonder if you can lock them when they spawn on one side but when somebody gets in them has a go then jumps out it then unlocks them so anybody can have a go

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

Hmm have them locked for most classes, maybe have the "smuggle" class be able to steal them. Be a perk for them. Chewbacca was able to use an AT-ST. Just some perk for that kind of class.

I like that idea. It could take some time to smuggle the vehicle depending if it's ATST/10 seconds or ATAT/30 seconds to steal it. Maybe it even could make some noise to steal vehicle then it's not that easy, cos enemy can notice you easier.

I think smuggler should be light armored unit(IE. only having pistol and some cool gadgets) who need to be clever to steal vehicles. smile

Hey one thing, we were discussing about spaceship. tongue

Re: Locked or unlocked vehicles - and "vehicle classes"

With exceptions to generic vehicles and the occasional lore-appropriate moment, I personally consider the stealing of vehicles and flag backcapturing to fall under the realm of griefing.  It takes away from the game as a whole for the benefit of the one or two people who did it.  For further details please see my post in the ABC discussion or wait till we publish more information on gameplay.  Thankyou
