I don't mind ads on free games because well, it's free. BUT, if BF: 2142's ads progress further than what they are now, then yeah, I'll have an issue. Right now I don't think they're that bad. I mean having ads is bad period, but at least they could be worse. When they start putting bill boards at every flag location, then it'll start getting bad.

It's fine when they stick them on walls. When I get sniped on Verdun because someone is hiding under a stupidly-placed billboard, that annoys me.

There won't be ads in First Strike, right? The second I see an I-Pod ad in FS, I seriously consider uninstalling the mod tongue .

I think EJ's question is just a general question about bf2142 / ads in games.

I think we could further that idea a little YES to 501st ads but we could also possibly look at some "Charity" ads perhaps ?

Well, I wouldn't consider the 501st logos and such 'ads'. In a way I guess it is, but we don't have big billboards or anything. Mostly small posters and such.

I agree totally with Woody's points, but ingame ads in general don't bother me. The way BF2142 does it is disturbing, but in racing games or sports games and such, ads actually make it feel more real. They're just a magical part of life that we all grow immune to. tongue
