Topic: Space Outpost Map

It was posted a while ago over the hyperspace idea.
I thought it might be nice to have a similar map, but based off a number of the ideas in that post.

If posible could we incoperate a map where a space outpost is being contested after the new found technologically advanced weapon built within it by the rebelion scientists.
The imperials discover this technology and a star destroyer drops out of hyperspace short of it and a boarding party begins its attack.
Meanwhile, a rebel scruiser having picked up a distress call drops out of hyperspace to support and push off the incoming attack.
Although by now the Imperials have breached the facility's main hangar and the storage area and are making there way to the control room of the weapon. From here the battle begins.

Inside the facility there should be 5 points / bases which must be capped on the way to the core control room.
The Empire would have one of these, a hangar on one side closest to the Imperial crusier on one side of the facility.
Where as the Rebels have landed in the hangar on the other side.
The rebels of course control the control room and the outposts main center and the core control of the weapon.
The rebels newly finished weapon although powerful enough to destroy a star destroyer, take a while to aling itself and charge. This gives the imperials time to attack the control room and chenge the programing of the weapon and to set a new target, the rebel cruiser.
This is one way of winning the match.
The second is to use the fighters availible and attack the anemy crusier directly aiming for weakpoints in the ships defences and eventually blowing it up. Although some troops would have to be diverted in the case that the weapon does not fully charge and target their cruiser eventually blowing it up.

(extra, in hte case of the main ship being distroyed, maybe the match could continue until either the side without a ship has been fully forced off the outpost. But once either main ship is destroyed there wiol be no more reinforcements. The remaining troops are therefore forced to try and fight for the control room as their only resort.)

Your map idea sounds very much like "GC Tanaab", which had Imperial cruisers, fighters, and other ships like Lambda shuttles and the Falcon fight around a platform armed with scattered laser turrets. The Rebels, to win, had to destroy the Empire's comm dish and board the platform to destroy several parked X-1 TIE Advanced prototypes inside it. The Imperials had to hold the Rebels off until their tickets reached zero.

I had a "Pavolv's House"-ish idea of the same nature. It features a "front line" Rebel platform under siege by the Imperials. The Empire's fighters have achieved total space superiority (all Rebel fighters in the hangar are statics as they'd have been blasted apart if attempting take-off anyhow) and the Imperials are preparing to board the facility and capture it. The facility has many laser turrets to defend itself, and possible mines and gun platforms around it. Entrances are one hangar, several docking platforms/landing pads (on the "arm" seen in the screenshot), as well as several air locks spread throughout the structure.

The Imperials have Stromtrooper Transports or Assault Transports for boarding the station (either through the hangar or the docking platforms) and TIE Bombers or some other attack light ship for suppressing the turrets. It's up to them to plan an attack strategy, either spreading out and hitting the air locks or landing pads, or concentrating their attacks on one spot such as the main hangar. The interior engagements play out like "GC ISD Judicator" battles for several control points throughout the station.

Maybe the control points could have different functions, such as one or two being armouries and the source of special pick-up kits not found in your spawn inventory, another being some sort of power generator from where the occupying force could shut down or active power to the turrets defending the outside of the space station, or to blast doors,  elevators, or other "infrastructure" features, and so on. Could be interesting if it's not overdone. Either way, I'd want a "command centre" to be in one of the tower, which'd cause ticket bleed for the side not controlling it.

Since I base it on "Pavlov's House", I'd like for it to have an air of desperation to it, with the Rebels having to cling on to their platform until reinforcements arrive to drive the Imperials off (which could be the setting of another map - a cruiser-vs-cruiser battle around the station). The challenge would be to give it an air of desperation and challenge without making it unbalanced.

I like your idea, Blank, and I would really like a space station battle of some sort. I'm not sure of it having to be some groundbreaking thing like a fight for a new super-weapon, though, with all due respect. It just gets tiring after a while to be important all the time, if you know what I mean tongue . A bit like how Rogue Squadron overdid by far the "tow-cable-against-walker" tactic used, let me see, once in the entire Civil War.

I am dying to see a space station map with an interior, Landing pads, and capitol ships... Its like the ultimate battle.

thats fine, I ment that laser weapon in more of a general point I'm not to fixed on that. But you do need a valid reason for them to get on the spacestation.
Otherwise you just end up with a bloody space batttle and maybe one or two guys inside walking round each other tongue
