Topic: Another inside ISD Battle?

It's hard for me to not compare First Strike to Galactic Conquest. Sorry if this question has already been answered before or I'm missing something, but is there a possiablity that there could be a map that features a battle inside a Imperial Star Destroyer?

Judicator from Galactic Conquest was my favorite map (hell, in the beginning of my GC playtime I only joined servers that ran Judicator) and I think I personally enjoyed it more playing as the Rebels when the map was unbalanced in favor of the Imperials. hamsters this brings back memories.

I'm just bringing this up because most of the devs from GC are in FS.

Another ole forum-mate joins the fray. Welcome aboard, Conners.

And yes, it's hard not to think of GC when I honestly think it'd be a good move to change the name to Galactic Conquest 2 or Galactic Conquest 2142 or some-such, if only as a sub-name ("First Strike - Galactic Conquest 2" or something). But I realize that if I were the original non-GC developers of FS, I'd almost certainly likely not do so myself.

And as you enjoy your stay, you'll see that there's incredible talent in the entire team. wink

This aint no GC2.

I think we need a special sticky for ex GC ppl so that we don't put our foot in our mouth by the second or third post. tongue

Do a search of GC and you'll see what I mean. tongue

Re: Another inside ISD Battle?

It's going to be tough. Alot of battlefield experts will keep comparing GC to FS. Maybe if you guys could pull of something unique to seperate you guys from the GC comparison. (I am not advocating any type of lightsaber kit, jedi kit, that defeats the whole purpose of this mod.)

It's like the whiz kid's little brother enrolling at his old school. All of his older brother's old teachers will keep comparing him.

Re: Another inside ISD Battle?

We Aim to be bigger better and more lore accurate than GC ever was. Yes there are a FEW of us old GC Dev's, and similarities are bound to occur just as they will with Star Wars battlefront.

However this Isn't going to be GC2, Although, Since there are some of us GC dev's on teh team, I suppose it gives us free license to pinch some of th ebetter ideas (if we wanted) from GC to put in FS without fear of re-cimination lol.

But TBH we are Waaay beyond GC in terms of overall scope.  Best to leave GC in teh past as a Good memory and look Forward To FS, with the knowledge that you have two great teams, that have come together as one to form the FS team to deliver the most kick pie Star Wars Experience Ever.

lol...

I am tempted to post what Woodrow said on GC last night...

I feel personally, GC was more of an arcade stlye game, this it feels like will be much more lore accurate and tactical... Thats just what rubs off on me, it could bo totally differnt though...
