Topic: Battle sequence.

As this is the wants list, I expect people can make silly and nearly impossible requests here. But seeing the magnificient images and video that have been created sofar, this team might be able to tackle anything.

Battle sequence.
My idea for this is to create a ammount of maps that can be played seperately, but can also be placed in the sequence of the movies.

Tantive IV
It start with the capture of Tantive IV. The map will start within a SD hangar and a crew of stormtroopers needs to board the blockade runner to capture it as soon as possible. If they don't manage to do so in a certain ammount of time, they will lose due to the DS plans being podded to Tatooine. (maybe a podding sound can be heard at the end of a round)

Tatooine dune sea
Because they are searching for the plans, the Stormtroopers will need to cover and clear a certain area. Seeing there were no rebels present I suggest the opposing force to be Tusken Raiders.

Tatooine, Mos EislyThe Stormtroopers are on the trail of the plans, but the inhabitatants of Mos Eisly cause a bit of trouble. The troopers should again reach a certain point(Millenium Falcon), before a timer runs out.
Maybe along the lines of Assault Lines, where the final CP is the Hangar.

Then the rest of the sequences from the movies could be played.

I can imagine this to be a massive ammount of work and therefor not realistic. But it would help create a couple of maps that are pherhaps smaller then the huge ones like Endor and Hoth.
Immersion wise it would be fantastic playing out some of these battle we have grown up with.

Would you not give your life to ensure the DS plans could be podded of board? Wouldn't you give anything to get your hands on those filthy smugglers in their YT-1300 freighter, that think they live above the law?

Re: Battle sequence.

You can load maps based on the outcome of the previous ones, but a bit of messing around needed and prob not high on the dev list. But I do like the idea. I think it adds so much more to game play, gives you more an incentive to kick some rebel scum azz lol

Re: Battle sequence.

well the sequence of maps is as far as i know up to the server running it. about the map after losing or winning. i frackly dont realy care.
i dont mind going from hoth to a spacemap like DS or any other map that was before hoth in the movies

Beta: Latin for "still doesn't work".

Re: Battle sequence.

Just to ease your mind, considerations such as these are going on in the mysterious coding backend that most of us lowly skinners and modelers know little about!

But the team attempts to consider many aspects of game play to create new and exciting experiences, theres a lot of new stuff in store for this game.

There was a post exactly like this a few months ago.

Re: Battle sequence.

Whatever, this is the first I've seen it, and I think it's a great idea.

I mean, I've seen a lot of "campaigns" requested, but this is sorta different from that and I like it.

Re: Battle sequence.

Another idea I got from the Dark Messiah Might and Magic Multiplayer. There you fight battles and the winning team get's closer to the other ones stronghold.

There are 5 maps. 1-0-0-0-1. You start in the middle one. If you win a battle you move closer to the stronghold. If you manage to win on 2 maps, you get to attack the stronghold. However if you lose a battle, you will need to try and push them back again.

What if this was to be implemented into a space battle? Say we have 5 or 3 maps. You start in the middle. If you win a battle you get to attack the other teams capital ship. If you beat them back from your capital ship, you go back to the middle map.

StarDestroyer-0-CalamariCruiser

This should lead to some great battles going back and forth. Plus there wouldn't be to much strain on the server, because each Capital ship is on it's own map.

This could even be done on grond based map. On a rebel occupied planet an Imperial detachment is dropped to destroy the rebel outpost. So you have a rebel outpost on the one side and the imperial dropzone on the other. The rebels need to try and drive the imperials of the planet by pushing them back to their dropzone and the imperials need to try and destroy the rebel outpost.

Offcourse there are many other ways to go with the Dark Messaih concept and I don't know if it's possible to program it into the server software.

Just another idea.
