Topic: A First Strike Wiki?
I have gotten myself addicted to Wikipedia, the huge encyclopedia that's run by everyone and blah, blah, blah. I've contributed some articles from scratch, worked on others, and considered the creation of yet more.
Now, I'm wondering if there could be an FS Wiki once the mod is released. It'd contain maps, vehicles, weapons, commander's abilities, tactics, strategy, bug compilations, F.A.Q., and everything else imaginable. I realize it'll be an added cost for software and hosting, but I believe that since it's a community tool, it'll mean that the players may eventually have a big resource on the mod without the developers having to sit down and write an extensive manual (although maybe they should do that in addition to this).
For example, if you release the mod and it's got the TIE Bomber map in it, and I particularly like the TIE Bomber, I'll write a piece on it. If I don't like the X-Wing too much, I'll write a little on it, and others who love the craft will fill in the blanks. If another user finds new tactical uses for the TIE Bomber, they'll add them to my article, and so on.
Maybe when the mod's been released and taken on popularity, you could purchase a Wiki so that us users can start a Wiki. If that's not possible, maybe start a section of the forum where everyone can edit every post and make that the Wiki.
How to start a Wiki, for those interested, such as myself.
