Topic: AIR SPACE

Most Battlefield 2 maps have limited air space...the original BF had a few maps that had good air space for the aircraft of the time...Gazala, El Alamein for example...would like to see BF devs stop cutting down the airspace.  SOLDNER has no limited space and yet it still concentrates air power on the objectives.  As a pilot you spend more time avoiding the RED ZONES..than fighting.

speaking of flight: Does anyone else have an issue between the flight controls of 1942 and bf2? I could fly a corsair upside down between a nun's knees with my eyes closed... but those jets in bf2... i've been killed by the ground more than any other weapon in the game. I'm also praying that the first strike fighters control very similarily to the ones in GC...

I could fly almost the entire speeder-bike race track in a snow speeder... that was fun scaring the crap outta the racers.

one more thing.. speaking of the glorious dog fights to be had on that Bonus Race map... why has there never been made, in any itteration of the game... a pure dogfighting map. Even on coral sea, you still had to repair that damned carrier... and if you had a bunch of tards on your team that wouldn't do so, you lost.

it's easy... 70-160 tickets (depending on the number of people playing), and let the kills tick them down. no cap-able flags... no carriers to sink... just some -very- good AA at the home base of each.... maybe throw in some random turbolasers in the middle of the map to give some fun to the non-pilots and bombers.

I'd love to see a strictly-snubfighter map.

Spawn each side directly into groups of fighters, and have a "border patrol area" in the middle of map with three cap points spread out as choke points.

must be doing something wrong with your settings in bf2 then, cause i almost never have troubles with the ground or red zones.
oke those mountains that pop up infront of you are hard not to hit, but still.
maybe its because i prever to fly with my mouse and keyboard, and not clean the dust of my joystick

Bonus Race = good times smile

I liked to use the VTOL function on the snowspeeder, combined with it's relatively flat top, as a open-air taxi. I'd take people from the Speeder bike line to the Cantina. And they'd be happy campers smile

Have the devs released an official map editor for BF2142 yet? I'd like to start terraforming a Bonus Race/City map. I will be setting up a speeder bike race track through mountainsides, valleys, and over bridges. I will also have an aircraft race-track that will not only involve valleys, but tunnels and sky pathways. Lastly, I will include a small entertainment town area, complete with a large landing platform (which will double as a airrace obstacle), a cantina, and space for a CTF-style arena. What else do you guys want to see?
