Topic: What will you be doing with "SPRINT" ??

I had a quick search through the forums and couldn't see any on this...

How will you be handling "SPRINT" for Infantry classes

I found it interesting that the QUAKE WARS devs are getting rid of "Sprint" (or rather giving a permamnent sprint with no stamina reduction as they feel that trained soldiers should be able to keep running)

Will you be sticking with the BF2142 stamina sprint? (with or without unlock?)

Will you go with full sprint at all times like QUAKE WARS are planning?

Will you get rid of sprint completely like some of the existing BF2142 mods?

I just wondered what you were planning and what people felt would be the "best" option

I personally favour the QuAKE WARS approach (Full sprint at all times without stamina) to get around the maps quicker

I personally believe Sprint Actually Allows the game to have slightly more tactics and more atmosphere.

this may sound far fetched but if you think about it it does.

e.g. Sprinting out of the way of an oncoming Grenade or missile. Sprinting behind cover.

Your sacrificing your ability to shoot to "get teh hell out of the way"  you get a feeling of, Oh SH** Run dive for cover.

I just think it feels more realistic like you suddenly get that adrenaline rush because of the flight or fight reaction your body would have in that situation and you just get out of there as fast as you can.

so far we have sprint implemented as usual. we may be playing with the idea of increasing stamina for teh less laden classes or whatever we have'nt fleshed that side of it out though.

I think removing stamina for sprint and leaving it for jumping would actually be quite a nice idea.

Especially on big maps walking slowly is a pain in the pie..

Leave sprint as it is, with lighter classes being able to sprint further and heavier classes perhaps not being able to sprint at all. As Preacher said, it adds to tactics and atmosphere.

I think sticking with the current formula is good, perhaps increasing the current running speed from a 'Jog' to a faster Jog ... would be ok... and making sprint last a big longer, especially considering most of our maps are larger ...
Our coding guys have enough work at the moment ... Good coders are Hard to Find...

Just to clarify, when I say:

I mean that you still have 2 speed levels - the normal walking around and shooting and then the SPRINT, which is the running - so you still keep the tactics and atmosphere element

The difference to the existing BF2142 set-up is that the STAMINA does not reduce so that it is either walking and shooting OR full sprint for as long as you want

Seeing the comments I must say that I agree with ALL of them! lol

I think any of the suggestions so far would work really well
