Topic: Titan mode or similar
Any plans for modes of play other than conquest? I'd like to see a mode similar to titan but perhaps more varied.
Imagine this:
Instead of missile silos like in 2142 they are Ion cannon installations being captured and used to disable and immobilize the massive attacking craft. Nothing so huge like a Star Destroyer or anything but something nice and omnious. If it cast a huge shadow on the ground as it thunderously maneuvered over head that would be awesome.
Better yet (this is something I wanted for 2142) why not a fortress installation, factory complex, or defended city (perhaps built into the side of a mountain, which makes it easier for mapping purposes and means the defenders only have 180 degrees to defend sicne they can't move the complex to defend like a titan can be moved). The fortress would have a reactor like the titan. Both mission critical devices have shields which need to be breached 1st.
Team 1 has the fortress to defend.
Team 2 has the titan-like craft to attack with.
Either side will win when the other team's vital equipment (fortress or titan) is lost OR they have no reinforcements left.
Team 1 could very well launch attack waves to stop the titan in advance.
Team 2 could launch and all out assault to overwhelm the fortress defenders. Both those methods might bring a quick end to match but they leave the attacker open to assault.
Meanwhile there are other capture points on the ground both sides would like to possess because they would provide a) spawn postions. b) added vehicles. c) spring boards to launch quicker strikes.
