Topic: Comlink and laat/i

hello i have been watching this mod since march and have 2 small questions to ask and or suggest

one is about voice chat with other players i was wondering are you going to add ambiance when you talk example an imperial squad leader is requesting evac to a laat/i pilot as they are pinned down with casulties

"requesting evac i repe... (hear e11 firing) ...evac heavy... (static and explosions) ...need assisstance... (more static) ...(shout)... Man down! Man down!... (static for 3 seconds)"

the static could act as another type of team play as you could set up jamming stations whitch jam signals stopping people from talking over ip and or spoting infentry i also belive u should be able to use voice ip with the entire team instead of only using ip chat with your squad mates this would help in space craft situations and when you need backup

my second idea is laat/i they were a Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry vehical used during the clone wars and during the galactic empire the empire used them as front line trasportsfor supplies infentry and and medical i think you could make laat/i for some maps which are smaller and where there will be classic line battles like in the battle for Geonosis this could replace the sentinal and lambda shuttles in some maps.

i hope you take my thoughts into consideration thanks

Re: Comlink and laat/i

I dont think enough people use VOIP for it to make a difference, and you couldn't jam TS or ventrilo anyway.

However, why not just jam normal radio commands? Being unable to request arty, orders, or even spot enemies would be quite a big disadvantage.

Re: Comlink and laat/i

I agree, and the radio commands should be more dynamic.  I loved how in BF2, if you were in a helo, the raido commands had chopper sounds in the background, or a jet, you could hear the engine, and such... that was awesome... maybe FS could work with that

BF2 had what now?

Re: Comlink and laat/i

When ever you were infantry and you said, "Enemy Spotted" or what ever, it would sound normal, but if someone said 'Enemy Spotted" while in a chopper, you coudl hear chopper sounds over the radio... am I the only one who noticed?

Re: Comlink and laat/i

No, I noticed too, I thought that was cool.

So if someone was in a  tie fighter and sent a radio command, everyone on that team would hear the whine of the TIE in the background of the message.

Re: Comlink and laat/i

but i also think i would be good if your in the middle of a tie bomber killing frenzy to hear the bombs going off when your requesting things
