Topic: bf 2142 1.4 patch problems

ok to start off, i downloaded the 1.4 patch. after I installed it, all the maps i could play were just highway tampa. the other servers had a different version, so i couldnt play any other maps. when i tried to play a map, it exoted me to the desktop and it does it every time. when i tried to restart 2142, it will not go. So i decided to uninstall 2142. so i did, and now when i tryed to install it, the install stops about halfway at verdun/serverinfo, and a few minutes later i get the error of " battlefield 2142 failed to install, please try again from the beginning." if some one had the same problem or can help me, then please post in this section, or pm me please i beg of you.

Er 1.4 patch for BF2142? I thought 1.25 is the newest patch. BF2 got a 1.41 patch. Are you sure you installed a bf2142 patch? hmm

I believe patch 1.4 is just a beta right now, it hasn't been officially released.

...Don't quote me on that.

yah it is a beta, but thats the least of my worries, i need to know y i can re-install my game

Umm, try deleting everything in your 2142 directory, usually junk remains after an uninstall, and then the 2142 folder in My Documents if you have one there. Try a reinstall after that

If it is still not working,  I guess you've got to do what Joe said.

yah i tried system restore, and for some dumb reason the patch was still installed, and the game was split into 3 different folders in EA bf2142(1) 2 and the normal, with info spread throughout everything. may the reason its not installing have something to do with a firewall or something?
