Topic: Wii: Yes/No/Maybe So

What's your opinion of Nintendo's latest console? Is it the next revolution in gaming, or a gimicky failure that will never live up to the other consoles, which sport much fancier graphics and wider selection of games?

If given the choice between a free Wii and a free PS3, I'd take the Wii -- though Zod only knows why.

I got a Wii and I can play with non-gamers now and have fun. nuff said.

right now i want a Wii. though they can keep their balance board.

though the new PS3 lineup does look pretty good.

I bought a wii because I wanted to play zelda and needed a nintendo fix. Its a good lil system but I'm not seeing anything in the works that I'd like to play...smash bros..meh, mario galaxy...meh(dont care for the whole planet to planet stuff), metroid...maybe. It is nice to go back and play the gamecube games i missed i.e. RE4

I'm am not even interested in the PS3 at all. It's the same crap with shiny packaging. Mind you I wasn't a huge fan of the PS2 either. hmm
Nintendo has at least tried something different and I have a blast whenever I play it with friends. The graphics may not be spectacular, but at least I have fun waving my arms in the air like I'm on fire. tongue

The backwards compatibility is one of the reasons I'm considering spending my (quite scarce) money on it. I want to play the resident evil remakes and metal gear solid: the twin snakes. The problem is, I don't really see any wii games out nor in the works that look good to me. I'm not really a zelda fan. No More Heroes looks interesting, but not earth shatteringly great. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicals could go either way, depending on how they do it. I'm against the "on the rails" style shooter on principal, but it could be fun.
