Re: Gripes about the in-game video

They only look weak in the video because the filming was set up to look more dramatic with the big explosions.

Re: Gripes about the in-game video

I can't wait for this! Way excited! One thing that did look odd though was the speed of the Ties and x-wings. They seemed sluggish. I'm pretty sure Ties are supposed to be sluggish, but in general they all seemed pretty slow. Maybe it's different when you're sitting in the cockpit big_smile  I'm hoping this brings back a little of the X-Wing / Tie Fighter experience. Speaking of which, will you be able to use a joystick or gamepad to fly?

I brought up that exact point to the devs... Keep in mind the video is WIP so lots of things *could* change.

And yea you will be able to use a joystick/gamepad as long as it works with v2142.

I thought they they looked very fragile in the trailer at first glance, too, but then I noticed one of them apparently take two AT rockets, and was reassured.

I was on the Rebel team wink

Re: Gripes about the in-game video

Rest assured that the entire rebel force where concentrating their fire on that large target. They are anything but weak. For filming purpose they where already damaged.

And if you see any FS-testers when the game is released, be assured to tell them they are noobs. They enjoy that. :-)

Sluggish you say. What seems sluggish will get your adrenalin pumping hard as you realize just how fast you are going. They seem slow and sluggish only because of the scale that you are looking at things. When you get in first-person mode in the cockpit things really change.
