Topic: Just a few questions

first off, i just wanna say i can't believe how some of you guys kept it together while waiting for this mod. I've only found out about this mod a week ago and can't wait for the sept release.

now to the question ( i know this might spoil some game features but developers usually release details as it gets closer to the release)

how will the space battle spawns work?

I've thought it over abit and came up of two ways.

1. the player choose their class and get a ship associated with the class. each team has spawn area where the players start.
        ex.  Player A chooses the Assault class and is assigned a X-Wing
            (maybe the classes are changed for space combat {Fighter Class, Bomber Class, and Interceptor Class. i don't know, just random thoughts}

2. the Players spawn on a capital ship and must make a dash to get from the spawn to their fighter of choice before the others.

either if which would work but my question is which if the two will be used or will there be something else, like a hybrid of the two or something completely different?

I cant speak with any authority on this matter but I can tell you that in GC the spawning was done by way of choosing your class and then spawning in a control room or hangar bay,and then making a dash for whatever ship took your fancy and was available in the hangar.The choice of class may have been restricted to engineers only on most maps anyway if I remember rightly,as your gear didnt have any use when just flying about in x-wings etc.
This method did lead to players making a dash for the best ships and squabbling about who got there first etc.The more polite players would form a queue and wait thier turn.It wasn't such a bad system although there was room for improvement.
Wether or not this will be used in FS I dont know,We'll have to wait and see.

P.S. It has been a long painful wait,But worth every second I think.:)

In the Hoth battle, fighters that work as spawn points appear to just hang there in space, for then to have players spawn into them.

Indeed, it will most likely end up being both in the end. Some missions will not have big capital ships by design on one or both sides, obviously. When we're talking capital ship combat and possibly boarding the big Calamaris or ISDs... Well you got to have a hangar one way or another for that.

Hmm...I just don't like the idea of spawning in a ship in the middle of space...If I could change one thing(if that is how you're gonna do it, that is) that would be it...

Well, I would advise waiting until the mod is released until you start thinking about what you could change wink

I'm sure people will post AT LEAST a 100 point list of things they want/wish to change/think sucks/etc.

Aye, first impressions are always best to post constructive afterthoughts with, if a majority doesnt like something, i'm sure the team will take notice of such things. At the moment i can only think about trying this first release and see for myself what it's like.

If fighters launch from hangars or hover midair remains to be seen.
