Topic: CTD on map loads, every map load.

Ok so I got past the shaders error and finally got the mod to launch. Unlike most people I took for granted there wouldn't be bots. After all it's the 1st release of the mod and bots are tricky. Get the guys at BFSP or wccsquad to help you out with that stuff.

My issue is it crashes on every map I load. It gets to about 80% and craps out.
I have:
-updated punkbuster
-deleted the cache (firststrike mod folder in my documents)
-reinstalled my graphics driver

All the typical crap which seems to be the remedy for everything 2142 related.

I'm running Vista, nvidia 8600GT, 2GB RAM

Im running XP, 8800 GTX, 2.5GB Ram

you guys get an errrors in windowed mode? If nothing is working then you may just need to wait for the fixes we have shortly they will cover these issues.

What version of BF2142 do you have installed?

ok this might help..

you might have already done this, but just in case you haven't:

Go to your BF2142 folder, mine is C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142

Locate the file "radial.cdb"

If you do not see this file in the folder then you need to go to folder options tell Windows to show hidden files. You also (or instead) have to uncheck the box just a little bit below it, which is "Hide protected operating system files".
(For some reason this is a protected file and will not show if you ask to show normal hidden files.)


Rename the file to oldradial.cdb (or something similar so you know what it is) and start your game.


The game will create a new radial.cbd file on it's own.

it worked for me so i hope it can help others..
