Topic: Some thoughts regarding space...

1. Its a spam fest. There is absolutely no reason to let go of the fire button. Implement overheating.

2. Remove the cheat HUD. It turns into a game of who gets bored of circling first, as you're always aware exactly of where the enemy is due to the convenient little symbol+arrow on your HUD. This shouldn't be here. The brackets around enemy can stay, but the arrow must go.

3. The hit boxes are completely broken. The only area that registers a hit is dead center back/front. Hitting the sides yields absolutely no results. Either remove the sides of aircraft completely or fix the hit boxes. It just looks silly.

4. Implement a health bar for capital ships. As it stands, there is absolutely no incentive for strafing capital ships/transports as no one on your team knows how much health is left. Why should I spend half the round bombing it when one guy at the end gets lucky and racks up those 3 points? Lets see the health.

5. This isn't a problem as of now, as the hitboxes are broken, but when/if they are fixed - I don't see how aircraft with thin silhouettes will be balanced against those with fat ones? What good is some more armor on that X-Wing when its pie is 10 times the size of a Tie-Fighter? The Fighter will own it every time. Bit of a dilemma here.

Yeah mabie because the Cap ships have some over heating with their anti fighter guns.

Thats only if there is a cap ship near you with the static uav around it...and Ive flown circles around people who knew were i was because of the HUD, and they wernt even on mine if you had some skill then mabie you could break the circle and kill them...Its not hard for me atleast.

Tho i agree with that it also gives some advantage for the y-wings at least when they have a gunner.  plus you can always align your shots to hit the front when coming from the side.

Yeah the health bar would be nice.

not really -.- the Ties get blown apart in about what 3-4 hits the x-wings take more then that because they need the time to loose the Tie or get a friend to help them thats why there are squads and team mates plus...comon its starwars thats how it has been forever changing that would just make more people mad

Re: Some thoughts regarding space...

i think you should implament capital ship boarding eventually, since they dont move, and you can walk around in them, i'm sorry but that would be just awesome even though it would be extremely hard to pull off

perhaps they could take down the sheilding a bit, so you can take ships down faster

Oh, and i forgot, i'm not sure if this already exists, but maybe you can makes some spots on the capital ships, or sheild generators, even though i'm pretty sure thats impossible.  Also, there is a little camping spot bombers can go when bombing a capital ship, right behind the engines, perhaps if touching he back would cause damage...

(starting with 2)
2. You will never be able to keep a target without an active HUD. Fighters move WAY to fast and people would just be zooming past eachother. the only engagements there would ever be are the ones that are 2000+ meters away. We have tested this mod for countless hours, you maybe a few hours or more. This is the best way to go.

1/3. Talk to Dice about it, there is no fix for this, the reason there is no over heat is because:
A. The ricochet cannot be removed from the projectiles. Which means we need LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of bolts coming out to ever get kills, if there were only a couple, and 90% were bouncing off/not counting you will never kill ANYTHING.  Dice made this problem FSDevs have done their best to fix it, for now DEAL with it.
B. Also Star Wars has lots and lots of bolts flying every which way in the films, if the amount that can be fired were reduced to 1/4 the amount it is at now the atmosphere goes out the window and you are just playing a flight sim on crack with StarWars models.

And for record if you learn to actually LEAD a target like a skilled pilot you will get the kills if you land the hits. Just takes  bit longer than being right behind them because you miss much more and some of them do not count.  I know it's hard but it can be done if you lead the target correctly.

4. this isn't going to fix the last guy getting lucky and getting the 3 points. And just FYI I am pretty sure the devs are planning on a point revamp so you should be getting points for your damage.

5. The aircraft are balanced pretty well already, Xwings are stronger, have more powerful bolts, and have torpedoes. TIEs are faster, weaker but lack strong weapons. And the back view really does matter when the fighter is weaving back and forth you can hit those side panels from the side easily.

Cannot be done with our capitol ship maneuver... It is planned for the future on bigger ships though... Like ISD or home one. Maybe some of the smaller vessels as well. But you most likely will never be running around in a Gallofree transport.
