Topic: Withering Fire ... A Few Thoughts
First off, awesome job on the Mod! You all rule for doing this and so if I may say ... THANK YOU!
OK, now to the point of the post. I like the theory of withering fire. Getting everyone involved and promoting squad play is a good idea. However, I do think that Withering Fire needs some tweaking to bring balance back to the vehicles.
For example, I was playing as a Storm Trooper on Tatooine and managed to blow up a Rebel Speeder with just a few shots from my blaster. Sorry, I don't recall the exact kit I was using or which weapon i was carrying, but I did find it odd that I could blow up an enemy vehicle in a few shots.
Later on in that round I was playing as a Rebel soldier as the gunner on an Armored Speeder when we came upon a single Storm Trooper. He managed to evade my poor shooting and blow up our Speeder with just a couple of shots from his blaster.
I haven't played FS for too many hours and I don't have experience yet with the various Walkers and other vehicles. It does seem to me though that standard blasters are much too powerful against vehicles. I would think that a blaster should take off something like 0.5% to 1% of health off of a vehicle where it appears that a single blaster shot seemingly takes off large chunks of health.
And on large vehicles like Walkers etc. i would think that a blaster shot would take off perhaps 0.25% to 0.5% MAX of health. I think its cool to have ALL soldiers be able to inflict damage on ANY vehicle, but I think that Troopers, Medics etc. should be inflicting that damage ALONGSIDE of Anti-Vehicle specialists as opposed to completely making up for any lack of them.
