Topic: Sniper Rifles

This thread shall be about sniper rifles and their implementation.  I have problems accepting that the most devastating weapon in the galaxy and a squad marksman weapon are the same.  I say give the Tenloss disruptor one second charge time and a five second cool down; but it is a one shot kill no matter where it hits.  It would have 1/3 the clip ammo and the crosshairs would close slower, a truer sniping weapon.  It should also have the ability to penetrate shields, not overload but shoot through.
   The Imperial rifle should be more of a marksman rifle and as such should be able to fire three or four quick shots, which none should kill except to the head; similar to the drugnov and type 88 in bf2 vanilla. 
      This would create a more diverse gameplay environment, with true sniping for the rebels and squad support for the imperials.

i wish there was a sniper. instead its that inaccurate support weapon

There's alot of "Sniper Rifles." The actual bolt-action Sniper Rifles in the trooper kit, The semi-auto marksman weapon like sniper rifles in the medic kit, and the thing in the support kit I haven't really used...

^ (To above poster) Hmm, I've had some of the unlocks unusable... But I've seen other people using them, what's with that?

Some servers have their settings jacked up so they won't appear, just keep looking for the right servers.

I feel that would unbalance the game, there are many areas where snipers are already very deadly and untouchable, giving them the ability to kill an enemy in one hit AND completely penetrate shields (This would allow the sniper to be used in close quarters, there are many instances where there's a standstill caused by shields, all the sniper would have to do is stand behind one and then shoot every enemy by penetrating the two or three shields that are in the way) would make them overpowered. There are also many towers or buildings with holes in them, I already find that many people take advantage of these and they are untouchable unless you are very close to the hole, every one of their shots makes it out of the hole but people trying to shoot in at them can't harm them at all because of the different firing patterns and accuracy of the laser weapons (in the original game if you scoped in and shot your first bullet would always hit exactly where your cross hairs were pointing, in this mod the first shot very rarely hits that mark) so I feel that giving these stand-still camping snipers even more deadly potential would greatly unbalance this...
