Multi-stage infantry & space maps would be great. First escort the transport to a space station then raid it on foot while the fighters & bombers destroy certain key parts on the outside!

There are a huge ammount of people enjoying ground maps and other enjoy space maps. Hopefully we will be able to combine both the flying and the ground part, but untill then you will most likely see both.

Currently the team is working hard on creating fixes for R1 to stop the CTD's. So please watch the front page for more news.

Pretty soon when we have a good selection of maps hopefully we will be seeing infantry or space only type servers, I agree that trying to do space combat with a mouse and keys is the suck and Id rather be on infantry maps personally as the gameplay is alot more diverse, I'm only playing the space maps right now because they just dont crash as much sad

Although when I first started flying in the mod I was in an X-wing and couldnt help but be reminded of my youth and the original SW arcade machine that I used to spend a small fortune on...

To be honest, I don't like the space battles, like the OP said, if you could somehow board enemy vessels like in titan that would be so incredibly cool.
