Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

I don't like things people wanna have all the time. Everybody wanted the planes and helos in BF2/2142. Weird things like TKing for them or just waiting for them to spawn when you need them at the battlefront was the outcome. So I'm not sure about this.

Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

If the Millennium Falcon ever becomes a 3D model in the mod, I hope its quad laser turrets are actually quad lasers, that also "reciprocate" & are not dual turrets like in old GC.  Also maybe more of a gunner cockpit view while shooting them, not just a sight down the barrel of the turret.

Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

i think it should be sorta like an AI ship for the escape from hoth, like it would fly a predetermined course and have 2 gunners spawn in the quads, and the Imps could attack it and destroy it though had to not get vaped themselves by the quads.

Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

I don't have anything against stock light freighters such as the YT-1300 being included in the game, but the Falcon specifically? Think it's a fair thing to say that won't happen, except as a static with, perhaps, an operable antipersonnel turret to mow down stormies with (that was just too much fun in GC big_smile ).

GC was pretty fixated at including third-party and 'hero' vehicles and locales just for them to be in the game, which, to be honest, felt slightly silly, not the least because there was little or no actual use for many of them (Jabba's barge really only became useful after they made her a mobile spawn point, and I don't recall anyone ever being scared of Slave I). As for locales, I don't see the tactical significance of a cantina or Sarlacc pit either.

So for FS, I think the developers should stick as much as possible to vehicles actually used by the factions represented.

Also maybe more of a gunner cockpit view while shooting them, not just a sight down the barrel of the turret.

Hehe, if I had my will we'd have cockpit views with realistic POVs for everything and no external views [receives pat on the back from Ty]. I say realistic POVs because many FS ships have the camera positioned in the wrong place in the cockpit (too high in the X-Wing cockpit, for example), very likely for gameplay reasons.

yeah it'd be cool and all, but i doubt its going to happen tongue
do any of you think the mf would be copyrighted as it was used frequently in the films? i would suppose so but i might be wrong

Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

No more copyrighted than "Hoth" or "Death Star".  While, in an artistic sense, I personally think the MF was a character in its own right -- it wasn't technically a character.

I would feel bad if there were no Millennium Falcon in the game.  A generic YT-1300 freighter for maps where the Falcon might not actually make sense to be, but where it was in the films, I'm all for it. smile

I could rarely fly the thing in GC, myself, and it was nigh-impossible to control Slave I, which is why it was never 'scary'. If controls were made remotely usable, either could be a nice addition, where appropriate.

And I can't even see to fly/gun in some of these vehicles, to be honest. Maybe if the HUDs for gunner positions followed crosshair transparency rules, or if the cockpits didn't take up so much screen space... They're nice, and the more detail, the better. But when I'm in combat, I'd rather see  the enemy than a bunch of pretty lights and 'controls'. The actual game play is what I find fun. So, make me take an extra split-second to change views. I don't care. But don't limit me to 25-33% of my screen for the action.

Today's spelling/grammar tip: There = a (sometimes conceptual) place. "There is my car." or "There is such a thing as magic."  // Their = posessive. "Their meat is full of worms." // They're = contraction of <they are>. "They're crazy!" // "They're trying to put their shoes up there."

Re: All I want is the Millennium Falcon and Bobo Fett ships

wasnt the MF at the death star trench run so it would have to be there to be law accurate. i would like to see it. no team killing for it in space.
