Topic: A shot in the dark...

I don't usually post on forums, but my friends and i thought that this mod is just too close to perfection not to ask for some fine tuning.  There are only two real improvements that we feel would be necesary, but we do feel strongly that they need adressed. The first of these being Weapon accuracy. Don't get us wrong, we love BF 2142, but the one thing we had always hoped we would see in any mod for it would be a large improvement in accuracy. A few of us are Prior/Current military and though we fully understand that this IS supposed to be a game, we still find it very frustrating that the projectiles deviate so badly. We love the accuracy of weapons in the "Project Reality" mod, though we would always be happy with what we can get :)  Secondly, we would like very much to see the addition of More vehicles and vehicle positions. IE: some of the guys don't feel too comfortable flying and and if they can't opt to be atleast fighting in a cruiser corridor they would atleast like to be able to jump into a secondary gunner position of a fighter.  That's about sums it all up. We thank you all for your time and more so for bringing the Star Wars mod back to the Battlefield series.  Thanks again!

Thanks to you and yours for serving your country! I don't disagree with you on any particular point.

well, personally i think the heavy repeating blasters (T21 and MK-1) are too accurate while standing, their accuracy is fine for crouching and lying though, some of the other weapons deviate too far for me too, but thats just my opinion...

Re: A shot in the dark...

there will be many more verhicles in R2 i think. lets see we are trying to get hoth all done for it so i would say atleast the snowspeeder. we had a rebel tank that just wasnt done yet and the others on the feature list (which btw is hopelessly outdated)
the ATAT is beeing cept secrect from even us tester, cept maybe some model showing.

sofar only the y wing is the only fighter that has a second seat. personaly i dont know of any imp. fighter that has 2 seats, but there must be some right?

about the accuracy. your not playing a sim like PR and if you look at the movies:
the imperials and rebels are already shooting more accurate then they did there

Aye. An interesting thing on this is the reference to the first movie, when the stormtroopers attacked the sandcrawler. It could only have been stormtroopers because of the "accuracy".

WELL DUH!!!

Its a HUGE HONKING SANDCRAWLER!!! So the stormtroopers can hit the eqvivalent of the broadside of a barn? Good for them!

Re: A shot in the dark...

I dont mind the deviations over time, personally, tho i think quite a few of the weapons dont start off accurate enough . Even when you're all set (crouched or proned for a good amount of time, in scoped mode and crosshair dead on your target) the 1st bolt can still miss by like a meter or 2.

I dont think that PR weapons are really comparable since theres so many different factors such as the fact there is no recoil and the bolt speeds are much much slower than bullets , not too mention FS isnt supposed to as sim-like as PRmod BUT i do agree that a little more accuracy here and there wuold improve things and take some of the luck out of it

This is just my personal opinion on this . Unless we have an outcry for more accuracy i dont think itl happen since most of the dev team seem to like it as is.

Yah, most of the problems with things you mentioned is becasue, well this is a Star Wars Mod, and things are the way they are cause of the lore. Most fighters don't have secondary positions. But you can always hop in a Capital Ship and man the turrets in the secondary positions.

And the weapons...I do agree they could be more accurate on the first shot or two, and then otherwise its fine.
