Topic: Game won't start

After the game is loading up and I push the lunch button the game kicks me back to my desktop and the game closed.. Help please.

First, double-check that your video setting for View Distance is at 100%.

If it is, try uninstalling the mod and then reinstalling it. When I first played, it crashed right when it tried loading a map; a reinstall fixed it immediately.

(NOTE: If you downloaded it with a Torrent program, make sure the setup file is NOT being shared when you install, otherwise FirstStrike will install corrupted).

got to the Punkbuster problem in this forum. this should fix your crashing if you still are after what Shadow said

Had this error too smile

Uninstalled bf2142, removed also everything bf2142 related in My Documents (so acutally the bf2142 folder if there is one left, u can also do this, to check everything when uninstalling (profile, screenshots,...)

So when uninstalled, reboot, reinstall bf2142, update the game with patch 1.25, install First Strike R1, update this one with patch 1.1

Next, if u have pbsetup on ur desktop, run this one, to reupdate ur punkbuster files for bf2142, try to run again, normally u shouldn't have the problems again

At least this worked for me and I had the exact same issues as U
