I dunno if it is possible but full 3d cockpits and taget lock-on plus padlock-view would help alot to keep your target and surroundings in sight.

no lol. i just think the large amount of crashes adds realism and makes space seem fast and chaotic. i dont crash on purpose.

Well you all know what happned during the trench run in EpIV, two fighters collided into each other smile (they did right? or was that Ep VI?)

Episode IV, when the MF did shoot on the trio following Luke in the trench, two TIEs destroyed, cause they flew against the wall, and the TIE of Darth Vader spinned in the air

No I think that was IV, one of Vaders two wingmen was a noob smile

But while real life dogfights may occasionally end in collisions, it is nowhere near the ratio we are seeing now.
For one thing no one would field fighters which such limited visibility as we have now.

So for the sake of gameplay I think it would be much more enjoyable if the cause of dead is enemy fire, and maybe direct, frontal collisions.
But not this "nudged-by-unseen-wingman"
