a tactic i often use, is to attach it to my Own AT-ST, that way i get a moving UAV and an early warning alarm system if any sneaky rebels are trying to plant proton grenades to my hull.
and as you said we found very early on in testing when the torpedo launchers had less ammo and AT-ST's were even stronger, Painting your target with a beacon so you were informed of teh AT-ST's movements was very important.
