Topic: New trooper classes

Do u think its a good idea to add the darktrooper and wookie to first strike.

Re: New trooper classes

yes. yes i do. but they take a lot of work for the models to be created. better to see the rebels improved first

Re: New trooper classes

As classes? Definitely not. I want this mod to be as accurate as possible, and having Wookiees and Dark Troopers run around everywhere is just silly. There were no Wookiees and Dark Troopers on Hoth (OK, strictly speaking, there was one Wookiee tongue ), so it'd be like making a World War II mod and put a French Resistance class in every single map, from Iwo Jima to Berlin to the Battle of Britain.

Do I want the Wookiees as a faction, though? Definitely. They're important and sophisticated enough to warrant inclusion, and could be included in several maps, too (at least one on Kashyyk or whatever their home planet is called). But no Ewoks, Gungans, Tusken Raiders, Jawas or other kind of minor races who have next to no equipment, vehicles or weapons and could only be used in one or two maps. And no, if it's up to me there will be no damned jet packs. We GC veterans went through this 1000 times with people when that mod was alive.

On-topic, I'd like an AA class, when the time for air units comes. And maybe a dedicated recon/artillery spotter unit who fares very badly in combat but is great for scouting and telling artillery where to shoot (perhaps he could call in off-map artillery strikes, too, on some maps). And a Sapper class who, like the Scout, can't fight very well, but can deploy/build some neat stuff on the battlefield (like barricades, deployable rocket launchers or scanners, and so on). If it's even possible in the first place in FS to have different classes for different maps, that is hmm .

Oh, and I'd love to have Canadiens' Squadron Leader class. Would be great.
