Re: May need to update the website link

Nobody suspects foul play on your part. The new redirect is the handiwork of a former developer with a grudge. I'll leave it to the devs to disclose details, should they so wish.

Captain source it's got nowthing to do with you mate don't worry,

Xero basicaly went way overboard and became a member of the Petty club, until they started charging him so he left after drawing moustaches on the founders faces.

A disgruntled Employee gone postal describes it well imho smile

Re: May need to update the website link

The situation went south just like most conflicts because of lack of communication and misunderstandings.  Without going into details our forums went down while they were under the control of Xero, and he posted he was leaving. Xero also had changed his contact details so we had no way of reaching him. Because we couldn't reach him and we had a community to stay in touch with, the team had to make some tough decisions on getting a new domain up. To make things worse, somehow Xero's account got messed up through his provider. In the end there were alot of odd things that happened all at once and we had no way of talking about it to sort it. Unfortunately, the damage was done, we can only hope that Xero will come back and understand that we meant no ill will towards him. Sorry for all the confusion on this, but it is out of our hands atm sad

Re: May need to update the website link

Well, I'm sure all in the community appreciate his hard work on the mod and web site, and I know he was an asset to your squad in FS and Vanilla. smile   It's unfortunate that this is all mostly due to misunderstanding and breakdown in communication.  The whole situation seemed very uncharacteristic of the first strike community.

I know for a fact that what is said here and how it's said  by all of us can either help or hurt the situation.  Here's hoping that both sides will try to bridge the gap and reconcile.  (That's GOT to be easier to accomplish than the bizarre mix of circumstances that led to all this.)

Re: May need to update the website link

Yes, our apologies Captain Source, if you've taken any blame it was certainly not meant for you.  We had no desire to change domains, all our publicity is for fsmod.com, in game everything links there, we've had magazine articles and countless websites point our way, but we really didn't have a choice in the matter.

I don't suppose you could put a little note on your site pointing people this way?  We'll gladly put up a note pointing Star Trek fans in your direction if you could, so hopefully it helps both of us.

Re: May need to update the website link

Thanks for the explantation, and please, don't take this the wrong way, but I have only heard an explanation from this side and am awaiting to hear from xEROhOUR with his side and hope he has not had a nervous breakdown or something more serious. I believe in a balanced response. Also, if the website was down and the forum played up and you guys took it on yourselves to rectify the situation, it may have been presumptuous, as I run the serves on my end and it is difficult to keep up with the MySQL errors that need fixing all the time and system errors that do throw the website out of wack for some days.

I too am sorry that the situation has come to this and hope it gets sorted soon. Till then, I have placed a banner and link on my main domain flash page to direct people here. I hope this will do? For an exchange link, you can grab one of our many banners http://www.enterprise-tcw.com/website/c … 8/lang,en/ or do something in-house that more suits your site. Thanks and hope things get back to normal soon....
