I have no doubt what it is possible to make a non-bunnyhopping game with the UT Engine.
But most UT Players like Bunnyhopping, so why they should play a mod without bunnyhopping ?

And for the Battlefieldplayers - they should they buy UT 2004 to play a StarWars mod with Battlefield-Teamplay ?
Hell, most BF2 Players even dont want to buy BF 2142, a game much closer to BF2 than UT 2004.

2142 is a mod, and jsut so you know EVERYTHING in 2142 could be done on hte bf2 engine. Except the walkers wouldn't be as pretty and there wouldn't be kit upgrades. EVERYTHING else could be done.

It IS a mod, and it is no better. Same game, different skin.

You are wrong and that is the truth smile It's the same engine but alot of newer features and a rendering scheme. Saying it is just a mod is not really accurate tbh, and there are other things besides what you mentioned that couldn't be done in BF2.
