Topic: B-Wing Ion Cannon

I understand this does no damage but rather has an EMP effect. I've never experienced a noticeable effect when using it however, and I don;t think I've ever been hit with it.

Does it just screw up the opponents HUD or will it freeze up their weapon and ability to maneuver? If it will accomplish the latter, how long does the effect last, and if you kept up sustained fire, can you keep them inactive as long as you continue firing?

Does it have the same effect on cap ships and transports as it does on fighters?

Re: B-Wing Ion Cannon

It makes them unable to move or rotate turrets... Not sure if it affects your ability to fire. I think it does though.
If you manage to hit a fighter it has the same effects, like the turret for Y-wing on EFH which shoots Ion blasters as secondary fire.

Yeah, it's fairly effective against other fighters as the B-Wing is one slow and sluggish bitch and needs other fighters to hold still tongue .

So true. wink But it packs one hell-of-a wallop! lol

Re: B-Wing Ion Cannon

it wont stop them from shooting, but will make them unable to move the turrets or move the ship at all (just like in vanilla bf)

Re: B-Wing Ion Cannon

So if they already have forward motion they won't continue to drift forward? Despite the physics defying aspect of this (I assume it may be unavoidable given the game engine) that's quite useful. It would be of particular use if the Empire had them on the tie fighters on Escape from Endor, but none of the empire ships receive ions right?

Re: B-Wing Ion Cannon

You're half right. The Bombers do have Ion weapons... but only on Battle of Taaloran.

And it's Escape from Hoth. Unless you know something about an upcoming map that we don't...
