Topic: I'd first like to say...

...devs, you've done a bang up job. For a first release I'm am utterly impressed with your work. My only regret is that I didn't decide to DL it sooner!

The main concern I have it with the lack of players. Am I missing servers somewhere or are there really only between 0 and 2 populated servers running at any one time? We need to get you guys a PR department and some advertising funds!

Yes, the mod is amazing, awesome, and all those other words..
oh and by the way.. have you voted at moddb for FS? if you haven't it would be cool if you did big_smile

You are notmistaken, there are hardly any players at the moment... May get better numbers after 1.2

there was a lot of players until the release of 2142 patch 1.4
It broke the servers essentially, since the new client wouldnt work after patching to 1.4
Most of my friends ( and prolly the public too ) thought with the release of 1.4 (2142) that some kind of client patch was required - when in reality the clients were fine, only the servers needed the MD5 hash reconfigured to work with the 2142 1.4 clients.
People are slowly filtering back, but most people using computers are pretty stupid when it comes to stuf like this so they are basicly waiting for a new patch.  Ive spread the word that FS 1.1 is not broke and to come play , but my feild of influence is limited.  When FS 1.2 is released there will be a groundswell of people coming back, as they still think the next patch is required.
be patient, this things gonna explode with the release of 1.2 ... I will put money on it .

I've been wondering where everybody went, myself. I was assuming it was because of the 2142 update, but I don't know for certain. We gotta get more people on it. lol We gotta spread the word!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I look forward to the days ahead. As great as the space maps are, I can see how much more potential there is when half the ships aren't sitting vacant.

We should all put each other on our respective friends lists. It might help us get a game together when individually we may see that the servers are empty and not bother joining one.

Welcome Sam, have you made sure that you only have same mod and same version ticked in advanced server options? I usually get at least 8 servers listed. You just got to keep checking them for people as when 2 or 3 start joining it can soon start to fill up a bit.

I'm not sure, but I think there is a FS XFire group, you may be able to find it on the forum somewhere, if not you can add me, as can anyone else who wants a regular FS partner:

Also, check some of the clan posts, even if your just a casual gamer one of the clans may suit you and its a great way to be part of a community as well as find other players eager to get on.
