Topic: what we need

What we need is some platform to organize times and dates for fights .
Theres no doubt that lots of us have this game, but very few times to find a big game going on.
What we need is a basic league ... and thats what Ive been building.
Actually an extension of a BFV league I was building. It involves teams signing up, and designating a command. This command contact makes requests to the website such as troop movements , ship movements, etc.
Battles are held on an arranged date, and the result of that battle determines who rolls-over the top of whoevers' hex.
Planets can be taken and defended. Defending is obviously going to take less effort.
Battles cannot be scheduled until Peices are in adjacent hexes, and a call to battle has been made.
Battles fought outsside of a planetary system are fought on space maps.
Battles fought for a planet will be fought on planetary maps matching the planets properties.
As new maps like asteroid belts and other goodies come to pass, we can expand the complexity
of our leagues star-map.
when I get the database formatted right, I will be accepting team signups for the first test run.
(probably set up a planetary strike with two teams at 1st)

right now, the 1st run of the league ladder will be small scale and small starmap like this one.

Re: what we need

sounds cool, but i don't know how well it would work since we have such a limited player base. I think it would be pretty cool to have a calendar displaying important dates and events.

COOL! like the idea.

Re: what we need

I'd love some sort of organized league when FS develops a big, stable player base, preferably with an actual universe with several planets and space sectors to battle it out with, and perhaps a working economy as well, letting you produce tickets, vehicles, droids, spaceships and so on and move them about on the map, for then to battle it out over planets. So for example, if you field 200 troops and a Light Recon Unit (which consists of two speeder bikes and a probe droid), you get 200 tickets in-game, along with two speeder bike spawns and a probot spawn. Some generic maps (Generic Woods, Generic Town1, Generic Town 2, Generic Desert, etc.) would be nice, too, so that we could have other locales than just the movie ones. Would take a good deal of effort to add and test, though. Either way, it'd be a fun scrap - rout the enemy team to win, or be the team that has the most points (which are gained in various ways) at the end of a set time period.

Would be a good way to launch a new build, too.

Re: what we need

indeed, it would make the mod pretty much unique amongst the others!! though we really need a boost in players before we could realize such a great thing

Re: what we need

unfortunately for the mod the past few months have seen many great games released.  Quake Wars, UT3, Crysis, COD4 and TF2.  Most people are probably playing those games and I fear the playerbase may never recover.  I hope I'm wrong.

Re: what we need

Yeah it will....  FS is in a sort of 'demo' stage at the moment with only a few maps on the first release... new releases will attract alot more people.
