Seriously, though, what do you all think of the stats system? I don't like them personally, as they tend to detract from teamwork, but if it brings more players to the mod I'm all for it.

I tend to agree with you about the stats system.  However, the requirements for the awards are going to  be aimed very specifically at recognizing individual achievement together with teamwork.

Yeah, they be probably be forced to since the last 4 highest
ranks are slected by the FS devs.

Well I can see what the Dev's are trying to do with stats.
The reason BF2 and 2142 were so popular was because of all the stats and unlockables.
The problem with this is people only play for the stats.
I personally hate stats but I can see that this will probably be better for the mod.

However does this also include unlocks? Personally I hope not, but I don't realy have a good reason for it apart of I wouldn't like it tongue
