Topic: cannot log on to server

Hi All

just wanted to say hi frist.

have got the latest up date for 2142, but when i go to join server it kicks me and say I must us an unmod version of 2142 dont kow what this means or who to fix can anyone help.

Hi welcome to fs, I suggest you use the search function to find one of the many hundreds of threads which are identical to this, most of which have a solution to the problem. I personnaly dont know the fix only that it has to do with the order in which you install update and patch both 2142 and first strike.

The first question is really are you running R1 because that will certainly throw the error, you need the v1.1 patch.  If you have it already then I would either get the full installer for v1.1 or search this forum for the answer that I know is around here somewhere.

Install 2142, instal patch 1.25, install FS version 1.1, install patch 1.40. Then play game. if it still says you got modified content then install the 1.1 update for FS then try again. Usually cures it for me.
