Topic: Crashing after deploying

Hey

I belive i have a faulty driver or some thing simular to it, I often get alot of Black Textures while playing First Strike which normally results in lag followed by a crash to desktop.

Latly ive had some more problems which totaly stop me from being able to play First Strike.

The map and the mod loads up fine, once i click "Deploy" my computer just restarts it self. Not too sure whats up with it, since all my scans are coming back fine.

Just wondering if any one has experianced a simular thing and knows how to fix it?

Re: Crashing after deploying

Does this occur only in First Strike? Or are other games affected too? If your compy is restarting then there may be a hardware problem somewhere, ie something getting too hot. Try taking the side panel off, cleaning out any dust bunny's and carefully clean the CPU and GPU fans. Then boot it up with the side panel off to aid in cooling. See how that works, if it doesn't crash then you are need to sort out your case cooling.

Re: Crashing after deploying

Twigs could be right...

But i also recommend the usual procedure:

- reinstall video drivers and the game, maybe even winblows

If it was a slow process of "getting worse" its likely a software issue, i.e. an unattended XP with lots of crap piled up over the time...

Id love a screenshot of your black textures, also you can prevent your PC from rebooting itself -
it should get stuck at the bluescreen then, giving you opportunity to read the actual error message.

Some info on your specs *could* be helpful tongue

Of course i take it for granted that your next post wont be something like
"btw i tried to OC my videocard and CPU, could that be the problem?"
