Re: Have you ever played America's Army? (teamwork)

I basically choose my kit based on the needs of the battlefield where I just died.  If it's getting swarmed with infantry I'll go for an AP option, whereas if there are vehicles coming up I'll go AV.  In either event the kits are robust and deep enough to allow you to do more than just use the primary weapon.

Actually I take that back.  That's what I *should* be doing.  What I actually do is just play officer the whole time, and constantly support my teammates with medpacks, sensor scans (I cannot stress how useful to everyone this is), and eweb cover fire.  Usually the rest of the team can figure it.  After all, we designed the kits and classes to be auto-balancing.  Like I said before, it's general practice to choose what is most needed at the time and at the place.

Vive la officer!

Oh, and as far as kit swapping goes, in theory it is possible using python to swap kits out so that after so many AV guys are spawned we can change it to a kit that doesn't have AV weapons.  However, with 2142 there is the unlock system now, and the graphics for that do not update correctly.  I'm not sure what happens if you actually choose a missile launcher when you can't but the visuals for it don't work right when we swap kits so I assume whatever does happen it isn't good.

And pickup kits are a no.  The current system we have is robust, effective, and self healing.  Just because you have a missile launcher does not make you useless later on against other challenges.  Especially if you stay with teammates that you can support with your other tools (mines, shield protection, etc)

Re: Have you ever played America's Army? (teamwork)

I don't see any benefit in "Special Pick Up Kits" now*.

21 CW use "Special Pick Up Kits" for limited "superweapons" like a mortar, but First Strike is so balanced what no "superweapons" are needed.

*o.k, the easter egg is such a kit wink

Re: Have you ever played America's Army? (teamwork)

I usually find the 4 most competent players in my squad and give the orders to them, the other guy is really only required to stay in our general vicinity or they get kicked.

Me- Officer/Trooper/Medic
2nd- Trooper
3rd- Trooper
4th- Heavy Weapons
5th- Medic
6th- w/e

I love the use of smoke so I really need some troopers for that, as well as all the radar/uav equipment. Heavy weapons I like to keep around for the sheild. Medic, you always need at least one. The other guy, which I usually have is just the floater type player, he can stay in the squad as long as he helps us in some way, if I am lucky I'll get 5 other competant players, but 99% of the time there's 1-2 of these types in my squad.

Me, I do what I feel the squad needs atm.

Also, pickup kits are one of the best things in any BF games/mods. If I had my way, FS would right now.

sorry if it sounds riddiculous, but what do you mean by 'pickup kit'?  the kit that u can pick from the ground when someone dies? (i predict the answer is no coz u can pick up someone's kit after he dies...)
