Topic: Tighten the Shooting

True to Star wars lore players should be able to gank 3-4 enemy with one clip.  As it stands, now it is only possible to gank 1 or maybe 2 before you get minced.  The shooting is terrible and is too much like vanilla.  The game lacks that impact that you can almost feel in the movies when a blaster hits a target. 

IMO this is the one element that lets the mod down considerably.  I think it would be awesome if the blasters would fire similar to the aircraft weapons, which are pure joy and capture the air to air combat almost perfectly.  It really isn't star wars imo, sure the models are awesome, but the ballistsics of the hand held weapons reminds me of firing a pellet gun or paintball gun.

Come on Devs give the blasters the same clout as in the movies, you emulated the space combat true to the movies lets see the infantry given the same respect and not have the shots disperse at right angles to the bloody crosshair (hehe that what it feels like).  Then the mod would be perfect in every way.  All I can stomach is the air to air maps.  Seems you have to be a vanilla vet to be into the infantry comabt.  Some of us bought 2142 for this mod, only smile

Improving infantry weapons accuracy is one of the things we are working on right now so stick around and watch this space.

Personally i have the feeling the Vanilla Weapons have more Punch.
But Weapon Tweaking is a difficult thing, it always have the risk to create a to powerfull weapon, allowing one class to pwn all overs.
(like the AKs of BF2 pwns the M16 in Short Range - and BF2 InfCombat is 90 % ShortRange)

I like the Concept what all weapons do overheat.
IMHO it's also a great benefit what in BF 2142 is pronespamming not an option, in FS you die like a man, not like a snake...

Accuracy is being increased. However, firepower won't be, from what I know of the mod team and their goals for the mod. Infantry goes down with one or two hit in the movies, but I fear this would be too "realistic" for the people who play FS.

It isnt too realistic until you can feel the pain and horror. Ok, you already can feel the horror sometimes...

As far as punch goes , last time i looked up from behind a wall and got my ey7e shot out by a disruptor, I swore I felt personal impact.
Maybe I kicked the cat, but it felt substantial.
Case in point, besides accuracy , If youre ever in a fire fight with more than 20 people, theres an overwhelming sensation of impacts and sizzling air real close to the ear lobes.
If they made this any more dramatic, I might need to wear a helmet.
If you arent experiencing this, maybe your soundcard is fritzed out and running in 16 bit mode.
If you arent seeing this , then maybe your lacking some hardware.
