The space maps are sadly lacking in point scoring opportunities, and have very little incentive to play, other than just for the hell of it, or to kill time waiting for the next infantry map to start. Yes it's "fun", but the satisfaction of spending most of a round destroying towers or rescuing transports for no reward whatsoever is starting to wear a little thin.

I don't find points to be the, well, point. Space maps are my favorite. I love escorting larger ships, or just mixing it up in cinematic SW dogfights. I get points for vaporizing enemy fighters and that's enough for me. Points for towers? Meh. It would be nice but I'm not that concerned with it. I could see it being a bit difficult to score. How many torps did each player slam into the tower before it blew? How many bolts? Does everyone get the destruction point, even if a particular player only hit it with one blaster bolt? This conversion is already (in my opinion) the best Star Wars combat game ever produced. It will only get better. Right now I think we should mostly be focused on getting more people to give it a try. If you like the game, even a little bit, try to get your friends to play. I'm purchasing a discounted 2142 for a friend because he's down on his luck and I really want him playing along with me that badly. Pimp it. If we all get 5 new players to try it out the game would reach some kind of critical number with the playerbase and be fairly self-sustaining.
